Thylacine

The third in a series of 6 collages I did over a weekend for my art 103 class.

I like how this one turned out a lot...and it actually has somewhat of a message, even though I originally didn't mean for it. I found an old photograph of the last Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger) in a zoo. The Tylacine is an extinct type of marsupial that was hunted to extinction and couldn't compete with dogs when they were introduced to Australia and Tasmania. The last one died out in 1936. In my collage, the creature has a pixie-stick straw cage surrounding it as well as some tattered (but colorful) fur-like yarn hanging down. I split the photo up into four parts in photoshop and colorized them so that it would add to the circus-like effect. I probably could keep going on about it, but I'll stop rambling. Enjoy~! ;D
